Is the usage of VPN or VPS networks permitted?

VPN and VPS in the context of Challenge/Simulated Funded Accounts?

As per our Terms and Conditions, participants in our challenge and simulated funded programs must be the sole traders of their accounts. Therefore, we do not allow the use of VPN or VPS to access trading accounts as it disrupts our internal data tracking systems.

It’s important to note that any practice that aligns with any such services that enable multiple users on a single account (or similar) is also strictly prohibited and shall not be used.

While generally the use of VPN or VPS is prohibited, we offer an exception to this rule regarding the usage of a VPS. We collaborate with ForexVPS and therefore allow VPN connections from said service so you can run your algos and EAs non-stop without disruption.

If any potentially malicious activity is detected on your simulated account, the use of such tools will heavily influence the assessment of whether you’ve violated our terms and conditions.

You’re permitted to use a VPS from ForexVPS, but it’s crucial to ensure compliance with our Terms and Conditions, which prohibit activities like multiple users trading on your simulated account or employing automated trading systems outside of the applicable permitted challenge types.

VPS for your Algos and EAs?

“A Virtual Private Server, or VPS, lets you stay connected to your Platform 4/5 trading account 24/7 via a virtual machine. This enables you to run your algos and EAs non-stop without disruption.

Our preferred VPS provider, ForexVPS, is co-located with our trading server hub. This facilitates direct cross-connection and ensures that your trades are always executed at ultra-fast speeds. A VPS is also quick and convenient to set up, with the ThinkMarkets Platform 4 and Platform 5 platforms already pre-installed on ForexVPS.”

Am I permitted to use a VPN/VPS during the KYC process?

Please note that connecting to Virtual Private Networks (“VPN”) and Virtual Private Servers (“VPS”) during the KYC/AML verification process is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply may result in your account not being funded, or your funded account may be disabled or breached if it’s discovered that you completed the KYC/AML process using a VPS or VPN.
