Bolt Flex instant funding is now live at ThinkCapital. It is our second Instant Funding account, alongside Bolt, and it gives you more room on your drawdown. You get a 7% maximum loss, balance-based loss limits and no evaluation phase. Prices start at $59.
Like Bolt, Bolt Flex gives you a funded account in a simulated trading environment on the day you buy it. The main difference lies in how your loss limits move.
What is Bolt Flex?
Bolt Flex is a ThinkCapital Instant Funding account with a 3% daily loss limit and a 7% trailing maximum loss. Both limits are balance-based, so unrealised gains on open trades never move your loss floor. It comes in five sizes, from $2.5K to $50K, with prices from $59.
How Bolt Flex works
- Choose your account. Pick a size from $2.5K to $50K and add any optional add-ons.
- Start trading. You receive your funded account the same day. There is no evaluation to pass.
- Reach your first-payout target. Make a 7% profit within the 3% daily and 7% maximum loss limits, and stay within the 25% consistency rule. This target applies to your first payout only.
- Request your payout. Payouts run every 14 days from your first funded trade, or on demand with the add-on. You keep 80% of eligible simulated profits, or 90% with the add-on. The minimum withdrawal is $100, and there is no payout cap.
Why balance-based drawdown matters
On Bolt, the maximum loss limit trails your highest equity in real time. A floating gain can therefore lift your loss floor before you close the trade.
Bolt Flex works differently. Its 7% maximum loss trails your highest balance, in the same way as our Lightning one-step challenge. Open positions do not move the floor. Only closed trades do.
Here is how that works on a $10K Bolt Flex account:
- Your starting loss floor is $9,300, which is 7% below your $10,000 balance.
- You open a trade that moves $400 into profit. Your floor stays at $9,300 while the trade remains open.
- You close the trade, and your balance rises to $10,400. Your floor now trails up to $9,700.
- Once your balance grows by 7% to $10,700, the floor locks at your $10,000 starting balance. From then on, it stops trailing.
These figures illustrate the mechanics only. They do not represent an expected trading result.
The 3% daily loss limit is also balance-based, as on Lightning. It resets at 5 PM EST/EDT each day. For full calculations, see the Bolt Flex drawdown FAQs.
Bolt vs Bolt Flex
| Rule | Bolt | Bolt Flex |
| Maximum loss | 6% trailing | 7% trailing |
| Maximum loss trails | Highest equity, in real time | Highest balance |
| Daily loss | 3%, equity-based | 3%, balance-based |
| First-payout target | 6% | 7% |
| Consistency rule | 20% best day | 25% best day |
| Account sizes | $2.5K to $100K | $2.5K to $50K |

Everything else stays the same on both accounts. That includes the payout cycle, minimum withdrawal, profit split, leverage, news rule, Weekend Holding add-on, inactivity rule and trading platform.
In short, Bolt offers a lower entry price and a $100K size. Bolt Flex offers a wider maximum loss and loss limits that ignore open-trade gains.
Holding Bolt and Bolt Flex together
Bolt and Bolt Flex share one account allocation. You can hold one active account per size across both programmes. For example, an active $25K Bolt account means you cannot open a $25K Bolt Flex account at the same time.
The shared allocation totals $192,500. Together, the two programmes can scale up to $500,000.
Bolt Flex prices and loss limits

These are base prices. Optional add-ons cost extra.
Optional add-ons
Bolt Flex offers the same three add-ons as Bolt. Each one costs a percentage of your account's base price.
| Add-on | What you get | Without the add-on | Additional cost |
| 90% Profit Split | A 90% share of eligible simulated profits | 80% profit split | 25% of base price |
| On-Demand Payouts | Request a payout at any time, with no limit on requests | Payouts every 14 days | 25% of base price |
| Weekend Holding | Keep positions open over the weekend | Close all trades before Friday 21:00 UTC | 15% of base price |
You can combine add-ons. For example, a $10K account costs $191 on its own, $239 with one 25% add-on, or $315 with all three.
On-demand refers to when you can request a payout, not instant payment. Our usual eligibility checks and processing still apply.
There is no news trading add-on. Around high-impact (red-folder) news, a 10-minute restriction applies. It runs from five minutes before to five minutes after the event. During that window, no trades or stop-loss and take-profit hits are allowed.
